Uniwise Offshore Thailand has purchased a NAUTIS offshore supply vessel simulator and instructor station to train offshore supply vessel (OSV) activities within its fleet.

Delivered and installed by The Netherlands-based VSTEP at the company’s training centre in Songkhla, Thailand, the NAUTIS OSV desktop simulator and instructor station will be used at the premises for realistic training of OSV activities and navigation training with the vessels of its fleet.

The simulator is said to consist of a range of specific OSVs from the Uniwise fleet, optimising the training value.

The desktop trainers feature a concept whereby a full 240° horizontal outside field of view is presented to the trainee at their desktop without any framerate or quality loss using just one high-spec PC.

NAUTIS desktop trainers’ large field of view enables the training of alongside maneuvers that require a perfect port or starboard view.
