Wood Group secures CNOOC subsea contract in South China Sea
Wood Group has won a new contract to support China National Offshore Oil’s (CNOOC) Lingshui 17-2 gas development in the Qiongdongnan basin of the South China Sea.
Under the contract, Wood Group will provide subsea and flow assurance services with support from its Australian and UK offices.
An independent review involving the project’s subsea production system design and a special study, as well as the design of the gas export pipeline will also be delivered.
Wood Group Specialist Technical Solutions business CEO Bob MacDonald said: "We are ideally positioned to support this significant Asia-Pacific development with our global deepwater expertise and broad subsea capabilities.
"We will leverage our vast experience providing robust and innovative solutions to tackle challenges related to deepwater activity.
"Our commitment is to delivering high-quality, safe and efficient services and we look forward to working in close collaboration with CNOOC to enhance their vision for their first deepwater project."
Recently, the company secured a five-year contract with INPEX Operations Australia to provide subsea engineering services for the Ichthys LNG Project situated offshore Western Australia.
The contract became effective immediately and includes two one-year extension options, as well as covering all subsea assets and the gas export pipeline.
Earlier, Wood Group has supported the Ichthys LNG Project development by providing subsea engineering and project management services during the concept, front-end and engineering phases of the project.
