Green Palm Marine has designed the float-over launch barge ‘GPMC – FLB16’, renamed as ‘Sapura Kencana FLB1’, which has been constructed and commissioned at Cosco Shipyard China. This barge is capable of performing a rapid ballast system, which enables the float-over and launch projects to be successfully executed without any hydraulic or strand jacks system, which is a massive advantage in terms of schedule and budget.
‘Sapura Kencana FLB1’ is a highly automated vessel, fully controlled using electrically actuated valves, pumps, and gensets from a central control room, which enables a competitive edge for SapuraKencana to win offshore installation projects.
This barge is capable of installing 20,000t jacket or topsides, which takes her into the premier league category of such vessels.
