GlobalData’s latest report, Q4 2017 Long-Term LNG Contracts Review – US Signs Most Export Contract Volumes indicates that the biggest new long-term Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) contract in the fourth quarter of 2017 was signed between Delfin LNG and China Gas Holding on November 9. According to the contract, Delfin LNG is expected to supply 3 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG from the US to China. The contract is for a period of 15 years, from 2021 to 2036.

Malaysia LNG Sdn Bhd and JERA signed the second-biggest contract for supply of 2.5mtpa of LNG. The contract was signed on October 25, 2017. LNG will be supplied from Malaysia to Japan for a period of three years, from 2018 to 2021.

The third-biggest contract in the quarter was signed by Qatargas Operating Company for supply of 1.1mtpa of LNG to OMV Gas Marketing & Trading GmbH on December 20, 2017. LNG will be supplied for a period of five years from Qatar to the Netherlands. LNG supply is expected to start in 2019.

Regional Contract Briefs – North America

One long-term contract was signed in North America between Delfin LNG and China Gas Holding. According to the contract, 3mtpa of LNG will be supplied from the US to China for a period of 15 years, starting 2021.

In the fourth quarter of 2017, a contract was signed in the Middle East between Qatargas Operating Company and OMV Gas GmbH. According to the contract, 1.1mtpa of LNG will be supplied for a period of five years from 2019 to 2024.

Oceania

In the fourth quarter of 2017, a contract was signed in Oceania between Origin Energy and ENN Group. According to the contract, 0.5mtpa of LNG will be supplied for a period of five years from 2018 to 2023.
