Olympus NDT is pleased to introduce OmniPC software that has been specifically developed for the Olympus OmniScan phased array flaw detector.

OmniPC is a computer-based software programme that provides comprehensive data analysis capabilities of inspection data, acquired with the OmniScan flaw detector. OmniPC provides several cost-saving advantages because analysis of inspection data is conducted on a computer rather than on the OmniScan.

A major benefit is that the OmniScan can be employed as a dedicated acquisition unit when scanning for hidden cracks, voids and other internal discontinuities in metals, composites, plastics and ceramics. Data acquisition and data analysis can be conducted concurrently, which increases productivity and decreases inspection time.

The user interface of OmniPC is very similar to the OmniScan’s onboard data analysis programme, which makes it easy for inspectors to learn the programme. Intuitive keyboard shortcuts have been added to boost productivity levels during file analysis.

OmniPC offers many of the same analysis capabilities as the OmniScan, such as data, reference and measurement cursors for defect sizing and reporting. Inspectors have access to the same tools and capabilities used to build a table of indications and generate comprehensive HTML reports.

OmniPC has an extensive readings database for trigonometry, flaw statistics on axes, volumetric position information and code-based acceptance criteria. The result is an easy-to-use software platform that dynamically expands data analysis options for OmniScan data files.

OmniPC is the perfect companion for performing analysis in conjunction with many nondestructive testing (NDT) applications, such as composite, corrosion and weld inspection with up to three groups. For more advanced features, the Olympus NDT TomoView software suite remains available for demanding applications, such as three or more groups, group or file merging, or custom display layouts.
