Notably, corporate governance was one of the most frequently referenced themes in Q2 2023, ranking highest in terms of mentions, ahead of shale and cryptocurrencies, according to GlobalData.
Of the top leading companies in the oil & gas industry, Petroleo Brasileiro had the greatest increase in references for corporate governance in Q2 2023, compared with the previous quarter. GlobalData identified 225 corporate governance-related sentences in the company's filings - 5% of all sentences - and an increase of 9% in Q2 2023 compared with Q2 2022. CNOOC’s mentions of corporate governance rose by 11% to 208 and ENN Energy’s by 36% to 198 and Sempra Energy’s by 2078% to 196 and Snam’s by 77% to 177.
