The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 6.4% in June 2021 when compared with May 2021.
IT jobs claimed a 12.52% share in the company’s total hiring activity in June 2021, and recorded a 1.74% down over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Baker Hughes Holdings IT hiring in June 2021
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Baker Hughes Holdings, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 67.27% in June 2021, and a 35.09% drop over May 2021, while Computer Support Specialists claimed a share of 10.91% in June 2021, and registered a flat growth. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 7.27% in June 2021, a 63.64% drop from May 2021.
Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at Baker Hughes Holdings
Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in June 2021 with a 38.18% share, which marked a 50% drop over the previous month.
North America stood next with 36.36%, registering a 13.04% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 21.82% share and a 53.85% drop over May 2021.
In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 1.82% and a month-on-month decline of 75%.South & Central America stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 1.82%, registering a 75% drop over the previous month.
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 29.09% share in June 2021, an 11.11% decline over May 2021. India featured next with a 23.64% share, down 50% over the previous month.China recorded a 9.09% share, an increase of 25% compared with May 2021.

Junior Level jobs held a share of 81.82%, down by 32.84% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 12.73% share, a decline of 74.07% compared with the previous month.
