China oil & gas industry registered a 5.6% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 9.05% in July 2021 compared with June 2021.
Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.06% share in July 2021, recording an increase of 0.04% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in China oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.11% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China oil & gas industry in July 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 52.83% in July 2021, a 26.32% drop over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 16.98% share, flat growth over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 11.32%, registering a 200% rise from June 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 9.43%, up 150% over the previous month.
Top five oil & gas companies in China IT recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 64.71% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China oil & gas industry during July 2021 over June 2021.
Exxon Mobil posted 9 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a rise of 12.5% over the previous month, followed by Henkel AGKGaA with 7 jobs and a 600% growth. Dow with 5 IT jobs and Baker Hughes Holdings with 4 jobs, recorded a 150% growth and a 33.33% decline, respectively, while LyondellBasell Industries recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 77.36%, up by 13.89% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 16.98% share, a decline of 25% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 5.66% share, down 50% over June 2021.
