China’s oil & gas industry IT recruitment activity rises 2.8% in August 2021

China’s oil & gas industry registered a 2.8% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 4.8% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.

Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.48% share in August 2021, recording an increase of 0.21% over the last three-month average share.

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s oil & gas industry in August 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 57.14% in August 2021, registering a flat growth over the previous month.

2) Computer Support Specialists claimed a 16.33% share, an increase of 100% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 16.33%, registering a 33.33% rise from July 2021.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 8.16%, down 55.56% over the previous month.

Top five oil & gas companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 118.75% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s oil & gas industry during August 2021 over July 2021.

Exxon Mobil posted 12 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a rise of 33.33% over the previous month, followed by Yara International with 11 jobs and a flat growth. Kingfa Science and Technology with 6 IT jobs and LyondellBasell Industries with 3 jobs, recorded a 500% flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while BASF recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during August 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.39%, down by 17.07% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 26.53% share, registered an increase of 44.44% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 4.08% share, down 33.33% over July 2021.
