Notably, Sales and Related Occupations jobs accounted for a 16% share of the Australian’s oil and gas industry new job postings in Q2 2023, up by 104% over the prior quarter.

Sales and Related Occupations drive oil and gas hiring activity

Of the industry's total hiring activity, the highest number of new job postings were for Sales and Related Occupations, which accounted for 16% of the total new job postings in Q2 2023 and were down by 0.68% year-on-year. Second highest were Architecture and Engineering Occupations, which accounted for 11% and drop by 4% year-on-year, and third highest were Management Occupations, which were 7% of the new job postings and 33% higher year-on-year.

Top five companies in oil and gas accounted for 51% of hiring activity

The highest number of jobs were posted by Ampol with 574, followed by Viva Energy Group with 249, while the highest increase was at NES Global Talent Norge at 39%.
