US-based company PPG Industries IT hiring declined 2.6% in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 7.06% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.
IT jobs claimed a 4.88% share in the company’s total hiring activity in August 2021, and recorded a 0.39% decline over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops PPG Industries IT hiring in August 2021
Out of the total IT job titles posted by PPG Industries, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 50% in August 2021, and a 31.03% drop over July 2021, while Computer Support Specialists claimed a share of 17.5% in August 2021, and registered a decline of 36.36%. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 12.5% in August 2021, a 37.5% drop from July 2021.
North America drives IT hiring at PPG Industries
North America emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in August 2021 with an 82.5% share, which marked a 26.67% drop over the previous month.
Europe stood next with 12.5%, registering a 37.5% month-on-month decline. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with a 5% share and a 66.67% drop over July 2021.
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 45% share in August 2021, a 20% growth over July 2021. Mexico featured next with a 37.5% share, down 50% over the previous month. Poland recorded a 7.5% share, a decline of 25% compared with July 2021.
Junior Level jobs lead PPG Industries IT hiring activity in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 80%, down by 20% from July 2021. Entry Level positions with a 12.5% share, a decline of 37.5% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 7.5% share, down 72.73% over July 2021.
