The top five companies accounted for 8% of patenting activity
Analysis of patenting activity by companies shows that Air Liquide filed the most hydrogen patents within the oil & gas industry in Q4 2023. The company filed 29 hydrogen-related patents in the quarter, compared with 34 in the previous quarter. It was followed by Toyota Motor with 27 hydrogen patent filings, Siemens (21 filings), and Linde (18 filings) in Q4 2023.
