The largest producers of natural gas in Papua New Guinea are Santos, Exxon Mobil and Kumul Petroleum. Santos was the largest producer of natural gas in 2022 with output up by 3% on 2021.

Exxon Mobil was the second-largest producer, with output up by 2%, and Kumul Petroleum was third with an increase of 2% on the previous year.

There are one natural gas producing fields in Papua New Guinea, all located onshore. The Southern Highlands has the majority of the natural gas fields in the country with one.
