A total of 40 deals worth $6.51bn were announced in Q4 2019, compared to the last four-quarter average of 40 deals.

M&A was the leading category in the quarter with 33 deals which accounted for 82.5% of all deals.

In second place was private equity with five deals, followed by venture financing with two transactions, respectively accounting for 12.5% and 5% of overall deal activity in the country’s oil & gas industry during the quarter.
