Schlumberger Oman has signed an agreement with Crimson Petroleum Services as part of its in-country value (ICV) strategy to develop the capacity and capability of Omani companies.

Under this agreement, Crimson Petroleum Services will provide services for artificial lifting technologies, as part of the scope of work awarded to Schlumberger by Occidental Oman, according to a statement issued by the company.

Crimson Petroleum Services will manage the service scope related to sucker-rod pumping units along with manpower and their associated tools and equipment.

Schlumberger/Crimson collaboration will boost local supply chain

Omanisation levels are expected to reach 98 per cent in the first year of the project, and the services will cover the rod pump systems with various sizes.

Managing director at Schlumberger Oman, Ali al-Lawati, said: “This agreement is another testament of our relentless commitment to collaborate with our partners towards joint ICV initiatives to support local companies in building competencies and capabilities to operate at international standards.

“The agreement will support and create jobs for Omanis and increase expenditure in the local supply chain.”
