Al-Shaheen is a producing conventional oil field located in shallow water in Qatar and is operated by North Oil Co Qatar . The field is located in block Block 5, with water depth of 217 feet.
Three expansion projects are associated with the Al-Shaheen conventional oil field, namely Al-Shaheen Field Gallaf Project (Batch 1), Al-Shaheen Field Gallaf Project (Batch 2) and Al-Shaheen Field Gallaf Project (Batch 3). The expansion projects are currently in the commissioning and construction stage, targeting start-up during 2022 – 2024.
Production from Al-Shaheen
The Al-Shaheen conventional oil field recovered 54.76% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2008. The peak production was approximately 330.45 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2073. The field currently accounts for approximately 6% of the country’s daily output.

The field is expected to recover 1,741.9 Mmboe, comprised of 1,741.9 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate. Al-Shaheen conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.38% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
