Ariel Conventional Oil Field, US

Ariel is a producing conventional oil field located in ultra-deepwater in the US and is operated by BP Exploration & Production. The field is located in block Mississippi Canyon 429 and Mississippi Canyon 430, with water depth of 6,240 feet.

The field is owned by BP and Shell.

Production from Ariel

The Ariel conventional oil field recovered 53.57% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2005. The peak production was approximately 25.55 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 36 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2058.

Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 82.27 Mmboe, comprised of 71.82 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 62.69 bcf of natural gas reserves. Ariel conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.02% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
