Avouma is a producing conventional oil field located in shallow water in Gabon and is operated by VAALCO Gabon. The field is located in block Etame Marin and Avouma, with water depth of 656 feet.

An expansion project is associated with the Avouma, namely South Tchibala Extension. This project is currently in the feasibility stage.

The field is owned by China Petrochemical, VAALCO Energy, PetroEnergy Resources and Tullow Oil.


Production from Avouma

The Avouma conventional oil field recovered 93.87% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2009. The peak production was approximately 8.09 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2025. The field currently accounts for approximately 1% of the country’s daily output.

The field is expected to recover 1.77 Mmboe, comprised of 1.77 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate.
