Bajo Del Choique – La Invernada Unconventional Oil Field, Argentina

Bajo Del Choique – La Invernada is a unconventional oil development located onshore Argentina and is operated by ExxonMobil Exploration Argentina. Discovered in 2014, Bajo Del Choique – La Invernada lies in block Bajo Del Choique – La Invernada.

The project is currently in construction stage and is expected to start commercial production in 2023.

The field is owned by Exxon Mobil, QatarEnergy and Gas y Petroleo del Neuquen.


Production from Bajo Del Choique – La Invernada

Production from the Bajo Del Choique – La Invernada unconventional oil development project is expected to begin in 2023 and is forecast to peak in 2026, to approximately 5 bpd of crude oil and condensate and 317 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, the production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2044.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 256.85 Mmboe, comprised of 0.02 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 1,540.95 bcf of natural gas reserves.
