Bakhrabad Conventional Gas Field, Bangladesh

Bakhrabad is a producing conventional gas field located onshore Bangladesh and is operated by KrisEnergy Holdings. The field is located in block Block 9.

The field is owned by Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral, KrisEnergy and Niko Resources.


Production from Bakhrabad

The Bakhrabad conventional gas field recovered 93.97% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 1996. The peak production was approximately 145 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2031. The field currently accounts for approximately 1% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 9.35 Mmboe, comprised of 0.1 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 55.48 bcf of natural gas reserves.
