Blake Conventional Oil Field, UK

Blake is a producing conventional oil field located in shallow water in the UK and is operated by Repsol Sinopec Resources UK. The field is located in block 13/24b BLAKE FIELD AREA, 13/24a ALL, and 13/29b ALL, with water depth of 363 feet.

An expansion project is associated with the Blake, namely Blake Infill Project. This project is currently in the construction stage, expected to start in 2022.

The field is owned by Viaro Energy, Repsol and China Petrochemical.


Production from Blake

The Blake conventional oil field recovered 79.30% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2002. The peak production was approximately 40.22 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 15 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2034. The field currently accounts for approximately 1% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 33.78 Mmboe, comprised of 29.21 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 27.4 bcf of natural gas reserves. Blake conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.01% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
