Block 6 Non-Associated Gas is a producing conventional gas field located onshore Oman and is operated by Petroleum Development Oman . The field is located in block Block 6 (North,Central & South Oman).

An expansion project is associated with the Block 6 Non-Associated Gas, namely Mabrouk North East Development Project. This project is currently in the construction stage, expected to start in 2022.

Production from Block 6 Non-Associated Gas

The Block 6 Non-Associated Gas conventional gas field recovered 42.79% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2015. The peak production was approximately 2,862 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2073. The field currently accounts for approximately 22% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 4,379.59 Mmboe, comprised of 26,277.51 bcf of natural gas reserves. Block 6 Non-Associated Gas conventional gas field reserves accounts 1.49% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
