Bongkot is a producing conventional gas field located in shallow water in Thailand and is operated by PTT Exploration and Production Public . The field is located in block B16, B15, and G2/61, with water depth of 269 feet.

An expansion project is associated with the Bongkot, namely Bongkot Development. This project is currently in the commissioning stage, expected to start in 2022.

Production from Bongkot

The Bongkot conventional gas field recovered 71.18% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2007. The peak production was approximately 17.86 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 629 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2041. The field currently accounts for approximately 15% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 427.68 Mmboe, comprised of 44.94 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 2,296.47 bcf of natural gas reserves. Bongkot conventional gas field reserves accounts 0.15% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
