California witnessed an increase of 8.02% in total oil and gas production to 5,11,021.16 boe/d in April 2020 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.
The oil and gas production declined 4.29% in April 2020 from 5,33,917.98 boe/d in April 2019. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in 2020 decreased by 19.03% from the same period in 2019.
In April 2020, oil production grew 10.13% to 4,04,588.74 bd as against the previous month, while gas production up by 0.67% to 617.31 mmcf/d.
On a YTD basis, oil production decreased by 7.99% in 2020 when compared with the same period in 2019, while gas production declined by 39.2%. Out of the total oil and gas production in April 2020, oil held a 79.17% share, while gas had a 20.83% share.
In California, California Resources emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 1,30,440.25 boe/d in April 2020, an increase of 5.75% from the previous month. The company held an 18.34% share in oil production and 52.86% share in gas production in April 2020.
On a YTD basis, the company registered a 5.47% decrease in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2019.
Compared with other counties in California, Kern county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 68.34% share in April 2020. The county witnessed a 10.95% increase in production to 3,49,246.95 boe/d in April 2020 when compared with the previous month.
On a YTD basis, Kern registered a decline of 6.92% in total production from the same period in 2019.
