Changbei Phase 1 is a producing unconventional gas field located onshore China and is operated by China National Petroleum. The field is located in block Changbei Block.

Production from Changbei Phase 1

The Changbei Phase 1 unconventional gas field recovered 55.45% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2018. The peak production was approximately 367 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2048. The field currently accounts for approximately 1% of the country’s daily output.

The field is expected to recover 222.9 Mmboe, comprised of 1,337.42 bcf of natural gas reserves. Changbei Phase 1 unconventional gas field reserves accounts 0.18% of total remaining reserves of producing unconventional gas fields globally.
