Cupiagua Sur is a producing conventional oil field located onshore Colombia and is operated by Ecopetrol. The field is located in block Santiago De Las Atalayas.

Production from Cupiagua Sur

The Cupiagua Sur conventional oil field recovered 24.51% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production expected in 2022. The peak production was approximately 1.31 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 103 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2059. The field currently accounts for approximately 2% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 89.27 Mmboe, comprised of 5.21 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 504.38 bcf of natural gas reserves. Cupiagua Sur conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.02% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
