Cygnus is a producing conventional gas field located in shallow water in the UK and is operated by Neptune E&P UK. The field is located in block 44/11a ALL, 44/12a ALL, and 44/11b ALL, with water depth of 122 feet.
An expansion project is associated with the Cygnus, namely Cygnus Infill Project. This project is currently in the feed stage.
Field participation details
The field is owned by Neptune Energy Group, Centrica and Stadtwerke Munchen.
Production from Cygnus
The Cygnus conventional gas field recovered 46.25% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2020. The peak production was approximately 0.96 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 256 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2041. The field currently accounts for approximately 3% of the country’s daily output.
Remaining recoverable reserves
The field is expected to recover 84.06 Mmboe, comprised of 0.83 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 499.36 bcf of natural gas reserves. Cygnus conventional gas field reserves accounts 0.03% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
