Etame is a producing conventional oil field located in shallow water in Gabon and is operated by VAALCO Gabon. The field is located in block Etame Marin and Etame, with water depth of 452 feet.
An expansion project is associated with the Etame, namely Etame Development Phase 2. This project is currently in the feasibility stage, expected to start in 2022.
Field participation details
The field is owned by Tullow Oil, PetroEnergy Resources, China Petrochemical and VAALCO Energy.
Production from Etame
The Etame conventional oil field recovered 72.91% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2005. The peak production was approximately 18.96 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2029. The field currently accounts for approximately 4% of the country’s daily output.
Remaining recoverable reserves
The field is expected to recover 25.96 Mmboe, comprised of 25.96 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate. Etame conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.01% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
