Florida witnessed a decrease of 89.23% in total oil and gas production to 1,196.29 boe/d in May 2020 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.
The oil and gas production declined 90.36% in May 2020 from 12,408.84 boe/d in May 2019. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in 2020 decreased by 20.43% from the same period in 2019.
In May 2020, oil production declined 70.13% to 1,139.13 bd as against the previous month, while gas production declined by 99.22% to 0.33 mmcf/d.
On a YTD basis, oil production decreased by 15.71% in 2020 when compared with the same period in 2019, while gas production declined by 22.92%. Out of the total oil and gas production in May 2020, oil held a 95.22% share, while gas had a 4.76% share.
In Florida, Maverick Natural Resources emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 1,028.05 boe/d in May 2020, a decrease of 90.6% from the previous month. The company held an 85.83% share in oil production and 87.88% share in gas production in May 2020.
On a YTD basis, the company registered a 19.54% decrease in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2019.
Compared with other counties in Florida, Collier county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 62.84% share in May 2020. The county witnessed a 6.4% increase in production to 751.77 boe/d in May 2020 when compared with the previous month.
On a YTD basis, Santa Rosa registered a decline of 15.92% in total production from the same period in 2019.
