Frade is a producing heavy oil field located in deepwater in Brazil and is operated by Petro Rio Jaguar Petroleo. The field is located in block FR (Frade), with water depth of 4,265 feet.
An expansion project is associated with the Frade, namely Frade Redevelopment. This project is currently in the approval stage.
Field participation details
The field is owned by PetroRio.
Production from Frade
The Frade heavy oil field recovered 64.50% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2011. The peak production was approximately 71.43 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 20 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2038.
Remaining recoverable reserves
The field is expected to recover 64.06 Mmboe, comprised of 63.95 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 0.65 bcf of natural gas reserves. Frade heavy oil field reserves accounts 0.15% of total remaining reserves of producing heavy oil fields globally.
