Geographe Thylacine is a producing conventional gas field located in shallow water in Australia and is operated by Beach Energy (Operations). The field is located in block T/30P, VIC/P43, VIC/L23, T/L3, and T/L2, with water depth of 331 feet.

An expansion project is associated with the Geographe Thylacine, namely Thylacine Development. This project is currently in the feasibility stage, expected to start in 2023.

Field participation details

The field is owned by O.G. Energy Holdings and Beach Energy.

Production from Geographe Thylacine

The Geographe Thylacine conventional gas field recovered 57.71% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2013. The peak production was approximately 1.71 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate, 142 Mmcfd of natural gas and 2.55 thousand bpd of natural gas liquids. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2039.

Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 69.03 Mmboe, comprised of 4.85 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate, 374.65 bcf of natural gas reserves and 1.74 Mmbbl of natural gas liquid reserves. Geographe Thylacine conventional gas field reserves accounts 0.02% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
