Golden Eagle is a producing conventional oil field located in shallow water in the UK and is operated by CNOOC Petroleum Europe. The field is located in block 14/26a REST OF BLOCK and 20/1 NORTH AREA OF THE BLOCK, with water depth of 535 feet.

An expansion project is associated with the Golden Eagle, namely Golden Eagle Infill Development . This project is currently in the approval stage, expected to start in 2022.

Production from Golden Eagle

The Golden Eagle conventional oil field recovered 48.98% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2017. The peak production was approximately 62.45 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 13 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2050. The field currently accounts for approximately 3% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 117.62 Mmboe, comprised of 113.49 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 24.75 bcf of natural gas reserves. Golden Eagle conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.03% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
