Greater Moran Unit is a producing conventional oil field located onshore Papua New Guinea and is operated by Oil Search (PNG). The field is located in block PDL 2, PDL 5, and PDL 6.

The field is owned by Santos, Mineral Resources Development, Marubeni, Kumul Petroleum Holdings, JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration and Exxon Mobil.
Production from Greater Moran Unit
The Greater Moran Unit conventional oil field recovered 79.15% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2007. The peak production was approximately 21.07 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 1 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2047. The field currently accounts for approximately 3% of the country’s daily output.

The field is expected to recover 27.47 Mmboe, comprised of 27.47 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate. Greater Moran Unit conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.01% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
