Heron is a conventional oil development located onshore Mongolia and is operated by Petro Matad. Discovered in 2019, Heron lies in block Block XX (Matad 20).
The project is currently in commissioning stage and is expected to start commercial production in 2022. The Heron conventional oil development will involve the drilling of approximately three wells.

Production from Heron
Production from the Heron conventional oil development project is expected to begin in 2022 and is forecast to peak in 2031, to approximately 8,928 bpd of crude oil and condensate. Based on economic assumptions, the production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2066.

The field is expected to recover 58.37 Mmboe, comprised of 58.37 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate.
