Ichalkil-Pokoch Conventional Oil Field, Mexico

Ichalkil-Pokoch is a conventional oil development located in shallow water in Mexico and is operated by Fieldwood Energy E&P Mexico S de RL de CV. Discovered in 2004, Ichalkil-Pokoch lies in block R01-L02-A4, with water depth of around 107 feet.

The project is currently in commissioning stage and is expected to start commercial production in 2021. Final investment decision (FID) of the project was approved in 2019. The development cost is expected to be $6,987 m. The Ichalkil-Pokoch conventional oil development will involve the drilling of approximately 19 wells and includes fixed platform.

The field is owned by PetroBal SAPI de CV and Fieldwood Energy.

Production from Ichalkil-Pokoch

Production from the Ichalkil-Pokoch conventional oil development project is expected to begin in 2021 and is forecast to peak in 2027, to approximately 98,169 bpd of crude oil and condensate and 116 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, the production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2050.

Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 596.15 Mmboe, comprised of 488.5 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 645.91 bcf of natural gas reserves.
