K2 Conventional Oil Field, US

K2 is a producing conventional oil field located in deepwater in the US and is operated by Anadarko Petroleum. The field is located in block Green Canyon 561, Green Canyon 606, and Green Canyon 562, with water depth of 4,170 feet.

The field is owned by Occidental Petroleum, Ecopetrol, Eni, Ogog (Gom 1) and JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration.


Production from K2

The K2 conventional oil field recovered 53.64% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2007. The peak production was approximately 29.79 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 29 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2063.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 105.22 Mmboe, comprised of 94.12 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 66.63 bcf of natural gas reserves. K2 conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.02% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
