Kaphong Conventional Gas Field, Thailand

Kaphong is a producing conventional gas field located in shallow water in Thailand and is operated by Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production. The field is located in block B10, with water depth of 226 feet.

The field is owned by Chevron, Mitsui and PTT Public.


Production from Kaphong

The Kaphong conventional gas field recovered 91.06% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2016. The peak production was approximately 9.97 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 123 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2025. The field currently accounts for approximately 2% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 11.28 Mmboe, comprised of 9.61 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 10.01 bcf of natural gas reserves.
