Kapuni is a producing conventional gas field located onshore New Zealand and is operated by Todd Petroleum Mining. The field is located in block 174E39/14 (PML 38839), 174E39/13 (PML 38839), 174E39/20 (PML 38839), and 174E39/19 (PML 38839).

Production from Kapuni

The Kapuni conventional gas field recovered 97.60% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 1977. The peak production was approximately 14.95 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate, 203 Mmcfd of natural gas and 0.19 thousand bpd of natural gas liquids. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2027. The field currently accounts for approximately 7% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 6.9 Mmboe, comprised of 1.35 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate, 27.98 bcf of natural gas reserves and 0.89 Mmbbl of natural gas liquid reserves.
