Karbala Refinery, Iraq

Midland Refineries will operate the upcoming Karbala refinery, proposed to be built at Karbala in Iraq. The non integrated refinery will be owned by Midland Refineries and is expected to start operations in 2022.

During the period 2021-2025, the Karbala refinery is expected to witness an estimated capex of $1,208m.

Contractors involved in the refinery

Some of the key contractors for the upcoming projects at the Karbala refinery include the following.

Design/FEED: TechnipFMC.

Main EPC: GS Engineering & Construction, Hyundai Motor Group, SK.

EPC: Doosan.
