Khazzan is a producing unconventional gas field located onshore Oman and is operated by BP Exploration (Epsilon). The field is located in block Block 61 (Makarem Khazan).

Production from Khazzan
The Khazzan unconventional gas field recovered 12.45% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production expected in 2028. The peak production will approximately 96.45 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 1,489 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2059. The field currently accounts for approximately 15% of the country’s daily output.
Remaining recoverable reserves
The field is expected to recover 2,263.26 Mmboe, comprised of 797.6 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 8,793.95 bcf of natural gas reserves. Khazzan unconventional gas field reserves accounts 1.94% of total remaining reserves of producing unconventional gas fields globally.
