Kumsay is a producing heavy oil field located onshore Kazakhstan and is operated by KMK Munay. The field is located in block Kumsay (Sub-Salt).

Production from Kumsay

The Kumsay heavy oil field recovered 27.06% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production expected in 2022. The peak production will approximately 8.46 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2066.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 45.76 Mmboe, comprised of 45.76 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate. Kumsay heavy oil field reserves accounts 0.10% of total remaining reserves of producing heavy oil fields globally.
