Laktybai and Karatobe South is a producing conventional oil field located onshore Kazakhstan and is operated by Kazakhturkmunai. The field is located in block Karatobe South (Yuzhno-Karatobe) (Block XXIV-21-A) and Laktibay (Block 2).

Production from Laktybai and Karatobe South

The Laktybai and Karatobe South conventional oil field recovered 41.81% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production expected in 2022. The peak production was approximately 7.9 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 11 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2078.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 49.83 Mmboe, comprised of 41.15 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 52.1 bcf of natural gas reserves. Laktybai and Karatobe South conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.01% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
