Lula Pilot Conventional Oil Field, Brazil

Lula Pilot is a producing conventional oil field located in ultra-deepwater in Brazil and is operated by Petroleo Brasileiro. The field is located in block BM-S-11 (Tupi), with water depth of 6,950 feet.

An expansion project is associated with the Lula Pilot, namely Tupi Future Development . This project is currently in the approval stage.

The field is owned by Petroleo Brasileiro, Shell, China Petrochemical, Pre-Sal Petroleo and Galp Energia SGPS.

Production from Lula Pilot

The Lula Pilot conventional oil field recovered 83.79% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2013. The peak production was approximately 88.6 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 59 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2030. The field currently accounts for approximately 2% of the country’s daily output.

Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 61.48 Mmboe, comprised of 54.53 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 41.68 bcf of natural gas reserves. Lula Pilot conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.01% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
