Mangahewa is a producing conventional gas field located onshore New Zealand and is operated by Todd Energy. The field is located in block 174E39/2 (PMP 38150).

Production from Mangahewa

The Mangahewa conventional gas field recovered 68.36% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2020. The peak production was approximately 2.71 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 99 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2040. The field currently accounts for approximately 19% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 27.98 Mmboe, comprised of 4.5 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 140.86 bcf of natural gas reserves. Mangahewa conventional gas field reserves accounts 0.01% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
