Mansuri-Bangestan is a producing heavy oil field located onshore Iran and is operated by Karoon Oil and Gas Production. The field is located in block Mansuri Bangestan.

An expansion project is associated with the Mansuri-Bangestan, namely Mansuri-Bangestan Development. This project is currently in the commissioning stage, expected to start in 2022.

The field is owned by National Iranian Oil.


Production from Mansuri-Bangestan

The Mansuri-Bangestan heavy oil field recovered 71.95% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2018. The peak production was approximately 60 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2064. The field currently accounts for approximately 1% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 211.65 Mmboe, comprised of 211.65 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate. Mansuri-Bangestan heavy oil field reserves accounts 0.48% of total remaining reserves of producing heavy oil fields globally.
