Montana witnessed a decrease of 1.68% in total oil and gas production to 1,13,620.32 boe/d in March 2020 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.
The oil and gas production grew 5.64% in March 2020 from 1,07,555.38 boe/d in March 2019. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in 2020 increased by 7.49% from the same period in 2019.
In March 2020, oil production declined 0.33% to 61,987.23 bd as against the previous month, while gas production declined by 3.27% to 299.47 mmcf/d.
On a YTD basis, oil production increased by 2.46% in 2020 when compared with the same period in 2019, while gas production rose by 14.1%. Out of the total oil and gas production in March 2020, oil held a 54.56% share, while gas had a 45.44% share.
In Montana, Denbury Resources emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 46,725.29 boe/d in March 2020, a decrease of 4.21% from the previous month. The company held a 27.23% share in oil production and 57.8% share in gas production in March 2020.
On a YTD basis, the company registered a 14.38% increase in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2019.
Compared with other counties in Montana, Richland county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 32.22% share in March 2020. The county witnessed a 10.48% increase in production to 36,609.78 boe/d in March 2020 when compared with the previous month.
On a YTD basis, Powder River registered an increase of 24.48% in total production from the same period in 2019.
