Moomba South is a producing conventional gas field located onshore Australia and is operated by Santos. The field is located in block PPL 9, PPL 8, and PPL 11.

An expansion project is associated with the Moomba South, namely Moomba South Phase 2. This project is currently in the feed stage.

Production from Moomba South

The Moomba South conventional gas field recovered 96.68% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 1979. The peak production was approximately 138 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2027.

Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 4.7 Mmboe, comprised of 0.01 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 28.14 bcf of natural gas reserves.
