North Karanpura is a cbm development located onshore India and is operated by Oil and Natural Gas. North Karanpura lies in block NK-CBM-2001/1.

The project is currently in construction stage and is expected to start commercial production in 2022. Final investment decision (FID) of the project was approved in 2016. The North Karanpura cbm development will involve the drilling of approximately 26 wells.

The field is owned by Deep Energy Resources, Indian Oil, Savla Oil and Gas and Oil and Natural Gas.


Production from North Karanpura

Production from the North Karanpura cbm development project is expected to begin in 2022 and is forecast to peak in 2023, to approximately 25 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, the production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2046.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 10.29 Mmboe, comprised of 61.73 bcf of natural gas reserves.
