Oklahoma witnessed an increase of 23.42% in total oil and gas production to 7,89,057.53 boe/d in June 2020 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.

The oil and gas production declined 14.76% in June 2020 from 9,25,737.1 boe/d in June 2019. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in 2020 decreased by 13.87% from the same period in 2019.

In June 2020, oil production grew 47.29% to 4,68,494.66 bd as against the previous month, while gas production declined by 0.22% to 1,859.26 mmcf/d.

On a YTD basis, oil production decreased by 14.61% in 2020 when compared with the same period in 2019, while gas production declined by 12.78%. Out of the total oil and gas production in June 2020, oil held a 59.37% share, while gas had a 40.63% share.


In Oklahoma, Continental Resources emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 83,208.89 boe/d in June 2020, an increase of 55.87% from the previous month. The company held a 10.12% share in oil production and 11.17% share in gas production in June 2020.

On a YTD basis, the company registered a 13.43% decrease in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2019.



Compared with other counties in Oklahoma, Kingfisher county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding an 11.3% share in June 2020. The county witnessed a 28.2% increase in production to 89,150.77 boe/d in June 2020 when compared with the previous month.

On a YTD basis, Grady registered an increase of 1.34% in total production from the same period in 2019.
