Oklahoma witnessed a decrease of 5.04% in total oil and gas production to 8,76,436.6 boe/d in March 2020 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.
The oil and gas production declined 8.32% in March 2020 from 9,55,955.77 boe/d in March 2019. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in 2020 decreased by 5.74% from the same period in 2019.
In March 2020, oil production declined 5% to 5,34,994.72 bd as against the previous month, while gas production declined by 5.09% to 1,980.36 mmcf/d.
On a YTD basis, oil production decreased by 2.55% in 2020 when compared with the same period in 2019, while gas production declined by 10.34%. Out of the total oil and gas production in March 2020, oil held a 61.04% share, while gas had a 38.96% share.
In Oklahoma, Continental Resources emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 1,13,120.77 boe/d in March 2020, a decrease of 5.6% from the previous month. The company held a 12.69% share in oil production and 13.24% share in gas production in March 2020.
On a YTD basis, the company registered a 6.49% increase in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2019.
Compared with other counties in Oklahoma, Grady county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 12.42% share in March 2020. The county witnessed a 3.92% decrease in production to 1,08,859.52 boe/d in March 2020 when compared with the previous month.
On a YTD basis, Grady registered an increase of 29.77% in total production from the same period in 2019.
